Innovative carbon fiber recycling

The project partners CFK-Valley Stade Recycling GmbH & Co. KG, Wischhafen, and the Lüdenscheid Plastics Institute developed a process by which the carbon fiber contained in composite materials waste, production waste or “end- of-life” products can be recycled and transferred to new, high-quality carbon fiber products.

Recovery of Phosphorus from Sewage Sludge

About two million tons of dry sludge mass accumulates each year in Germany, containing about 60,000 tons of phosphorus. Sewage sludge is thus a possible source for phosphorus recycling. With the DBU’s (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt) support, the chemical factory Budenheim KG, Budenheim, has developed a process by which phosphates can be separated from sewage sludge and thereby recovered.

High-quality recycling of PUR flexible foams

The company H & S Anlagentechnik GmbH, of Sulingen, has introduced an innovative chemical recycling process. In this manner a recycling polyol is successfully generated, which is once again suitable for immediate PUR flexible foam production
