Febreze and other chemical "air fresheners" actually contain toxic substances that they release in the air, the image shows a short text from the environmental assessment of the Environmental Working Group 2007-2009 on Febreze Air Effects Just stop using these. There are much better, natural ways to get rid of bad smells.....

Avoidance of additional plastic waste due to dog-shit-dumping by using plastic bags

Dogs shit! Avoiding this fact through the implementation of the radical solution "don´t feed them anymore" seems problematic due to estimated distortion of social fabric and resistance. In respect of such discrepancies the following interim solution became accepted, at least in the urban realms: Cover one hand with a plastic bag, collect the droppings of your beloved quadruped and dump both - shit and plastic - in communion, more or less unsorted. Energy efficient cooking pans

You can save a significant amount of energy in the kitchen by keeping lids on saucepans. However, it isn't practical to use a lid for some cooking methods, e.g. for stir-frying or for reducing the volume of a sauce by evaporating water from it. How could cookware be designed to save energy in these cases?
