SoundRide

[ENG] SoundRide is a renewable energy powered vehicle to be used as a travelling-radio for events. The design will be implemented by ShareRadio to move around Milan broadcasting events while promoting social cohesion. This will increase ShareRadio’s visibility and participation across the city, giving a voice to everyone. SoundRide is designed as a hybrid quadricycle combining four monocrystalline solar panels with manpower. It enables both the covering of greater distances in less time and the complete powering of necessary radio equipment at event sites.

[ITA] SoundRide è un veicolo che usa energia rinnovabile progettato come stazione radio itinerante. Sarà usato da ShareRadio, webradio di Milano, per raggiungere eventi in tutta la città e dare a tutti l’opportunità di far sentire la propria voce, promuovendo e favorendo l’inclusione sociale. SoundRide è un quadriciclo ibrido, alimentato da pannelli solari, e con pedalata assistita; questo permette di raggiungere in breve ogni luogo della città e far funzionare la radio sul luogo dell’evento con la sola energia del sole.

ABOUT THE PROJECT / IL PROGETTO

[ENG] SoundRide has two main functions: (1) A vehicle (empowering ShareRadio to reach various event sites in the city); and (2) easy reconfiguration into a radio station on-site. Just twist the seat and open the radio equipment table!

[ITA] SoundRide è progettato con due principali funzioni: come veicolo (facilitando gli spostamenti della ShareRadio verso i luogo degli eventi); e come stazione radio per trasmettere dal luogo stesso degli eventi: si gira il sedile, si aprono un paio di scomparti e l la radio è pronta per la diretta!

[ENG] The vehicle is completely powered by renewable energy combining solar and, if needed, manpower, to both move the vehicle and to power the broadcasting equipment. This makes it incredibly sustainable and independent from any harmful source of energy. SoundRide has the Brushless Hub motors, the most efficient technology available, located in the wheels with the lowest loss of power in the transmissions (90% of energy transmission).

[ITA] SoundRide è un veicolo che usa solo energia rinnovabile, combinando quella solare con un sistema di pedalata assistita. Questo garantisce  tutta l’energia che seve per gli spsotamenti e il funzionamento della stazione radio. SoundRide indipendente e completamente sostenibile! SoundRide è dotato di motori Brushless Hub, collocati nelle ruote con una minima perdita energetica.
