Brands/certifications should be communicated to attract more wood producers in these quality approaches (good practices). We must develop the aids available to producers in order to improve their equipment (drying platform, shed, etc.). Firewood producers have very low margins. European calls for projects exist but they are only accessible to PEFC certified producers (sustainable management) whereas this certification costs without being able to amortize the cost by passing it on to the price of the PEFC log. Indeed, few end customers know and are willing to pay an extra cost on this consumer product that is firewood. Aid must be available to motivated small producers. Production platforms need to be improved to have the best possible wood quality. Help logging companies that are struggling to finance their winter stocks. This stock allows them to have a satisfactory wood bearing and facilitates the production of dry wood.
