This device store solar power and transferred the stored energy for different application. This device is designed keeping the requirements of needy and poor people of Asian an African region . These continents get enough amount of sunlight, which can be converted in to electric power and provide basic amenities like light and food for a family of four. Tribals and poor people spend their daytime doing hard work in fields and labor work. based on the research I found out that these people cook their food either in morning or evening. And the cooking and light resources are taken from the nature(Wood,Cow-dung). By cutting trees for cooking food has already harmed the natural cycle a lot and an easy alternative must be introduced on immediate basis. Also it is not so healthy as wood fire creates smoke and harmful fumes. Also Kids can not study after dark due to lack of electricity or interrupted power supply due to geographic, social and political reasons. conditions. The inspiration from nature is a sunflower and (Helianthus) and sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica). The top head, which is equipped with solar panel, rotates according to the sun movement and all the panels shrink in the night like sensitive plant and the other surface of the solar panels acts as a light source. The only challenge I see in this device is to find a suitable battery and designing components which will make it compact, mobile, durable and sustainable.

As is uses the solar energy, it makes this device highly sustainable and can be used in any terrain. This device will use the solar power.

 

A user centric study was conducted before designing this device. The groups of people targeted for this device were from the lower income group people of under developed countries in Asia and Africa region. These people spend their day doing hard work in fields of labor work. The majority food cooking is done either in morning or evening. Mostly everyone is working except kids.

 

This device has expandable solar panels on top, which can go up to height of 6 to 8 feet. Same solar panels will be shrined manually (to save energy) and the facing four surfaces will be equipped with low energy consuming light source(LED or similar) . The total assembly will be brought down and it will be used as a primary light source in the house.

Another application would be cooking. The every saved during daytime will be stored in the battery box at bottom. Using the battery and induction-cooking device, which is incorporated within the main device will be used for cooking.

 

This device will have wheels at the bottom and thus can be moved to anywhere without hassle. Solar panels will be moving up and down and daily basis and can be cleaned/maintained regularly.

Parts will will be made usig rapid prototyping( SLA or FDM). A compatible plastic grade will be used which will be durable during movements and its application. Also we can use metal rapid prototyping(SLS)  during exploration stage for metal parts.
