This problem describes the most common problem around the world but it's very specific in how the paper is used.

Posters are printed to convey information.

They are also high quality paper, often glossy and big in size.

Often the back side of the posters are totally plain and good to use. There is sometimes visible print on the backside but many are still usable.

Since once the posters are up, there is no one who is responsible for taking them back down or used as scrap paper. They are often thrown away. Since making paper has a huge environmental cost, if the other side of the paper could also be used, it would half the amount of paper used for posters.

What it needs (initial solution)

Someone who can collect the posters and use them again for printing.

Colour coding to make sense if it's used on both sides or not. For example: if one edge (say bottom left) could be coloured just a few cms in size (maybe a triangle or square at the corner). Say if it's yellow on one side that means this is the front side and currently in use. Say if it's blue then that could mean that it is the back side and the front side has already been used.

Good point! Such a wasteful and commonly used product. Not sure if collection is the most efficient way to go, but definitely an area in need of radical innovation. Thanks Aakash :-)
