Ursula studied architecture, art and industrial design. After working at scientific institutions she founded econcept, Agency for Sustainable Design in 1996. econcept is specialized in Design for Sustainability, Ecodesign, Eco-Innovation, Sustainable Production Consumption Systems and Sustainable Product Service Systems. Its core activities are design, consulting, research and education as well as networking, publication and communication of results. Besides of numerous research projects and development of educational programs for Sustainable Design, econcept also researched developed, assembled and published a toolkit for Eco- and Sustainable Design and Innovation and participated in the development of ISO 14062. econcept gathered all methods and tools needed to carry out thorough Sustainble Design and innovation projects including analysis and evaluation in all three Sustainability dimensions (social, environmental, economic), guidelines and creativity tools, advice for how to implement this into daily routines of companies etc. Furthermore econcept participated in other EU projects such as: MEPSS, SusProNet and SCORE. The agency has a wide international network, is member of O2, LeNS, DESIS, Eco-Innovation network, LCA network, and active in communicating, educating, organizing conferences and spreading knowledge about Sustainable and Eco Design and Innovation.

Bonnie's primary area of interest is the sustainable management of hotels on small island destinations. She is doing a Master's degree in Sustainable Tourism Management at Cologne Business School (CBS) in Cologne, Germany and holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Sustainability Studies (focus on Innovation and Entrepreneurship) and German from Acadia University, Nova Scotia, Canada. Bonnie is currently working as the Assistant Manager of Research and Communications at econcept - Agency for Sustainable Design and as a research assistant to Prof. Dr. René Schmidpeter (holder of the Dr. Jürgen Meyer Endowed Chair for International Business Ethics and CSR).
