The Solar Scooter: The 1% Car

The Solar Scooter realizes 80% of all mobility needs in the city - with only about 1% of the energy and material usage of a car.

The expanded solar surface in front of the scooter is able to achieve complete weather protection for the legs and shoes. With a poncho you are then fully protected against rain.

The solar surface ot the Solar Scooter makes about 30 Wp. That will give you in sunny weather around 30 -. 45 minutes more travel time daily - in addition to the approximately 2 hours from the battery.

I am now going to build a slightly larger scooter who still has a little more solar power and then can recharge about 1 hour travel time per day. Then you actually are pretty much independent of the power grid in sunny weather and you can easily recharge by parking in a sunny spot.

In the box at the front of the scooter a rain poncho and a briefcase or small purchases can be accommodated. Even a case of beer fits into the flap at the front.

The small Solar Scooter has proven in everyday life to be very flexible. It is always the first at the traffic lights, because you can repel much better than a bicycle. The engine pulls quickly. And the scooter is so narrow that it always comes through. No more jam - never. Even in the thickest traffic jam. Driving is fun again!
