An Apartment complex offers living space for renters with diverse demographic backgrounds. This means there is a good mix of renters in different ages, from various cultural backgrounds as well as interests and abilities. This mixture promotes the connectivity of the residents as a social living space. where residents are exchanging and helping each other. Living space for the renters can be increased and decreased by moving the walls/ opening/shutting doors to connect or separate different rooms. Another option is moving within the apartment complex, which is not such a big deal, as there are many helpers and besides the rented rooms, there is no big change for the moving person. Last but not least there is plenty of shared spaces such as an outdoor area, a kitchen and laundry room and whatever else the residents want to have. E.g. there could be some guestrooms and a library, gamesroom and a fitness room. Since all share many rooms and services, these are affordable. And at the same time renters can help out each other voluntarily such as babysitting and repearing stuff.

    Hi Jessica,

thanks this is a good idea. In general such Co-Living of elder people exists already in various options.

What I really find interesting is that you think about the exchange of appartments and changing app. structures. Of course this demands higher flexibility from the elder generation. But it sounds great to me.
